When you change the way you look at something, what you look at changes. - Wayne Dyer

My name is Jason Recker. I’m an award-winning graphic designer and artist, living in London, Ontario, Canada. You can see my work live and in-person in my studio gallery at 796 Dundas St., London ON.

My nostalgic pop-art might bring my clients back to a time and place in their minds that triggers memories of happiness and joy. Maybe it’s an image of an artist that they listened to when they were a teenager when all they had to worry about was the weekend with friends or maybe it’s the love of having something unique on their wall to look at everyday. My work mentally takes them away from everyday life and brings them back to an easier time.

I like to travel. I’ve traveled around the world a bit and the California vibe really clicked for me. The sunshine, the culture, all wrapped up into something I connect to.

I love car culture. I know too much useless info about way too many vehicles.

I’m a big music fan. It all started with The Kinks at Cobo Arena in Detroit at fourteen years old. The smell of American cigarettes and weed, stale beer, the echoing of a soundcheck, the energy waiting for a show to begin, the lights, and the body-pounding sound are what hooked me in. I have become well-versed in rock music history and also know way more useless information about bands than most people.

I’m old school. Anything that has a story and shows some character I’ll gravitate to. Old car, moto, surf, and skate culture vibes are my foundation. There’s something about that 70’s/80’s era that gets me all warm and cozy every time.

I guess it comes back to all the things that I loved growing up that I now bring into my artwork. Mixed-media pieces are what I use to tell my stories.
