David Bowie 1976

Reimagining the 1976 David Bowie Rolling Stone magazine cover with acrylics, ink, pencil crayon and deep resin finish. This was David’s “Thin White Duke” era, just coming out of the Ziggy Stardust era. This was a new look and new sound and this cover is so cool it hurts. I love the snippet in time these represent and the other stories included in this issue. What’s so interesting about this piece is that David Bowie was just starting to become the “David Bowie” we know 40 years later. In 1975 he was still basically an eccentric “alternative artist” trying to find where he fit in the music world just doing what he does. As we all know, he kept creating and being Bowie to go on to become the icon that he is today. I love this one and it would be appreciated and enjoyed by any Bowie fan.

Size is 24” x 30” x 2”.

Are you a long-time Bowie fan and are looking for something unique to put on your wall?
