In Gord We Trust
An artistic tribute to one of Canada’s most beloved musicians, Gord Downie of The Tragically Hip. This was the back cover of an issue of Maclean’s after he passed away that I’ve recreated here for a client. There is a lot of texture and layers going on here and the more you look at it, the more you see. The gold leaf and hand lettering really makes this piece come to life.
This artwork really changes the vibe of a room and is definitely a conversation starter.
Lots of love went into this one and the soundtrack while creating it was pretty much Road Apples.
This piece is mixed media and collage with acrylic, gold leaf, spray paint, pencil, and ink.
