Steve McQueen - Triumph

“The King of Cool”

I’m not sure what it is about Steve McQueen, but he has something about him that just oozes cool. Probably macho movies like Bullitt and its famous car chase, or LeMans or The Great Escape. His antihero persona, emphasized during the height of the counterculture of the 1960s, made him a top box-office draw during the 1960s and 1970s. He died in 1980, at age 50 of cancer. He married three times and had a lifelong love of motor racing, once remarking,
"Racing is life. Anything before or after is just waiting.".

In the end, this is just a super cool image that makes me feel good when I look at it.

This is done in acrylic, pencil, ink and finished in varnish.
