Harry Styles 2020

Harry Styles is not an artist I’m really familiar with but when a friend requests a unique piece of art for their daughter, you get to work. Luckily, he recently was on a cover with a great image to work with. As with every cover I create, there is a point on each one that I feel that I may have totally messed it up and I need to start over. This one was no different. But what I’ve learned is that there are no mistakes in art and you keep pressing on. I used a lot of metallic silver and gold and wasn’t sure if it was going to work, but in the end, as always, my intuition was right and it looks amazing. The metallics really come to life when the resin is poured. I even brought out the gold foil for this one which I think makes the cover have even more impact.

I couldn’t recognize a Harry Styles song if I heard one, but I won’t forget this cover!

This cover is reimagined in acrylic, pencil, and ink and finished in resin.
