On the Road with Slash

I remember hearing Guns & Roses first single Welcome to the Jungle on WRIF 101 out of Detroit and it was one of those times you just knew that something new was happening. The other time was when I heard Nirvana’s Smells like teen spirit. So I went and bought the cassette the next day and that tape played non-stop in my white Fiero all that summer, at 11.

Born Saul Hudson, he is best known as the lead guitarist of Guns N' Roses, with whom he achieved worldwide success in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Slash has received critical acclaim and is considered one of the greatest guitarists in history. I don’t think there has been a rock guitarist since that has had an impact like Slash has on the industry. He’s the real deal and has become a rock icon with his distinct guitar sounds, big curly hair, and signature top hat.

This is done in acrylic, spray paint, pencil, and ink on wood panel board.
